Barbara Lynn Hong-Supp, of Greenwich, Conn. passed away December 23, 2013 after fighting a long-term illness.
She was born in 1953 in Brooklyn, New York, the daughter of James and Rose Hong. Barbara is survived by her husband of 37 years, Joseph Supp, and her brother Barry Hong who lives in Saint Louis, Missouri. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her oldest brother Robert James Hong.
Barbara graduated from FDR High School in Brooklyn, NY in 1970. She then went on to attend Concordia College in Bronxville, NY, where she met her husband Joseph. She then continued with her studies at Stonybrook University, and post-graduate studies at Brooklyn College and New York University.
Barbara was for many years an adjunct faculty member of the City University of New York teaching political science at various colleges of CUNY, Baruch College and Jay John College in particular. She was also active in the Greenwich community serving on the Board of the Greenwich YMCA and was also active with the United Way of Greenwich. She was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 761 King St., Rye Brook, New York 10573.
Family and friends are invited to visit at the Castiglione Funeral Home, 134 Hamilton Ave., Greenwich, CT 06830 on Friday, December 27, 2013 from 4-8 P.M. Funeral services will be held at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Rye Brook, NY at 11 A.M. on Saturday December 28.
